This epidemiological and cohort study sought to investigate any causative association between COVID-19 infection and GBS. Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare syndrome in which the body’s immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. The peripheral nervous system carries signals from the brain to the muscles. Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute inflammatory peripheral nerve disorder resulting in severe and sometimes lasting paralysis; about one-third of patients develop respiratory failure requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission and ventilation (Leonhard et al., 2019). The first symptoms of Guillain–Barré syndrome were lower-limb weakness and paresthesia in four patients and facial diplegia followed by ataxia and paresthesia in one patient (Table 1). Generalized, Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare disorder where the body’s immune system damages nerve cells, causing muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. While its cause is not fully understood, the syndrome often follows infection with a virus or bacteria.
